Understanding What Actually Drives Business Value

Most people look at financial statements and see numbers. We teach you to see the story behind them. Learning fundamental analysis isn't about memorizing formulas. It's about developing the ability to question assumptions and spot patterns others miss.

How We Break Down Complex Financial Concepts

Our courses run from September 2025 through March 2026, giving you time to absorb ideas properly. We don't rush through balance sheets and income statements like they're checklists.

Cash Flow Reality

Companies can report profits while running out of money. We spend significant time on cash flow statements because they reveal what's actually happening with liquidity. You'll learn to spot warning signs before they become headlines.

Industry Context Matters

A retail business operates differently than a software company. Same metrics, completely different meanings. We teach you to adjust your analysis based on sector realities rather than applying generic frameworks everywhere.

Reading Between The Lines

Annual reports contain more than financial data. Management commentary, footnotes, and audit opinions tell you things the main numbers can't. Learning to parse these sections properly takes practice, but it's where real insights emerge.

Practical Ratio Work

Ratios are tools, not answers. We show you when debt-to-equity matters and when it doesn't. When ROE reveals something useful and when it's misleading. Context determines everything in financial analysis.

Working With Real Company Data

Theory only gets you so far. Our courses use actual financial statements from Australian and international companies. You'll analyze businesses across sectors, compare competitors, and build your own assessment frameworks.

We don't give you the answers upfront. You'll work through case studies where two analysts could reasonably reach different conclusions. That's how finance works in practice. Learning to defend your analysis with solid reasoning matters more than finding the "right" number.

Classes start in autumn 2025, with evening sessions designed for working professionals who want to build these skills gradually.

I've taught fundamental analysis for twelve years now. Students often arrive thinking they'll learn secret valuation tricks. What they actually discover is how to think critically about business models and financial health.

What Makes Our Training Different

Small Group Format

We cap courses at sixteen participants because meaningful discussion requires it. You'll have time to ask questions about specific companies or concepts you're struggling with.

No Guarantees, Just Skills

We won't promise you'll become an expert analyst in six months. Some people grasp these concepts quickly, others need more time. We focus on building solid foundations you can expand on later.

Portfolio Analysis Projects

By the final month, you'll present analysis on three companies of your choice. This isn't about getting grades. It's about practicing the research and presentation skills you'll need if you pursue this field seriously.
